Bill Bucklew_Feb2016_V01_RT.jpg

In 2012, Bill was diagnosed with Parkinson’s - he was 43. Bill’s father, Bob, was diagnosed with PD two years later. In 2017, Bill formed the non-profit UnCorked Adventures. Their mission is “to help people with Parkinson’s disease make the most out of life, while we work together to find a cure.” The company’s first event had him walking over 2500 miles, from coast to coast, in just just 67 days. He’s had the honor of sharing his story and philosophy of being OK to Fail to determine one’s real potential with audiences around the world. He’s also pushing the vanguard of applied medical science, leading a joint development team of scientists, industry professionals and participants with PD to develop a unique wellness program to educate, engage and improve the quality of life for those living with the disease.

Cidney Donahoo - Pedaling for PD

IMG-0832.JPG

Pedaling for Parkinson’s is a forced exercise program based off of research done by Dr. Jay Alberts. The effects of forced exercise were serendipitously discovered during a tandem bike ride in Iowa. It was found that riding a bike at 80 – 90 RPMs, 3 times a week could reduce PD symptoms by 35%. Since that discovery in 2003, Pedaling for Parkinson’s classes have become a staple for many people with Parkinson’s helping to mitigate symptoms of the disease. Because of the pandemic, many classes have now been moved online.
